The Artist Spotlight series follows dela Moontribe as she walks us through her personal philosophy of music making, performance, and festivals. dela Moontribe is a staple to SoCal’s music scene and she has been spinning since 1999 and is a resident of Southern California’s Moontribe Collective.

Her sound spans a range that includes dreamy downtempo, funky midtempo breaks, heavy dubstep, and groovy drum and bass. Dub, tribal, world, hip hop, and techno elements infuse her music. She joins deep baselines and thundering bottom ends. dela’s sets are a lyrical and psychedelic experience that reflect her resolute positivity and energy for life.

dela is also a resident and organizer of Southern California’s legendary Moontribe Collective. Since 1993, Moontribe’s full moon desert gatherings have been at the core of Southern California’s underground electronic music scene. Moontribe Collective are a community of moon-loving southern California desert dancers. Gatherings are non-commercial and fueled completely by volunteers and donations.

Over the years, she has played at events such as Lightning in a Bottle and Shambhala Music Festival in Canada. Other notable festivals are The Great Convergence in Egypt, Rainbow Serpent in Australia and Tribal Gathering in Panama. Locally she works with Southern California crews like Green Sector, Terrakroma, Serenity Gathering, and Subtract Music.
